Supporting reagents for human iPSC-derived cells

Beyond selecting the type of human-iPSC-derived cells and their accompanying media, there are also supporting reagents to consider. These reagents include growth factors like BDNF, CNTF, and GDNF and maturation supplements needed to ensure proper cell growth and maintenance. In addition, coating solutions for culture surfaces, optimized for the cell type in question, are also essential for preserving cell morphology and function.

Human iPSC-derived cell culture supplements

As leading experts in deriving and culturing cells from human iPSCs, we have developed a number of media supplements that greatly speed up maturation times. These supplements bring your time-to-assay much closer, allowing you to achieve more in less time. A few examples of our supplements include

  • Sensory Neuron Maturation Maximizer Supplement enhances the existing Sensory Neuron Maintenance Medium (ax0060). It works by mimicking in vivo signals between sensory neurons and their supporting cells, giving you neurons that express TRPv1, Nav1.7, and Nav1.8 by week 4 of culture. The supplement contains signaling factors present in the peripheral nervous system and in particular the native environment of sensory neurons.
  • Motor Neuron Maturation Accelerator Supplement helps to mimic the in vivo environment to speed up motor neuron maturation. Culturing our axoCellsTM motor neuron progenitor cells in this supplemented media provides functionally mature neurons in 14 days that are assay ready by day 21, down from eight weeks.
