Welcome, Mariana, our new COO, to the team at Axol Bioscience!
Mariana joins Axol Bioscience at an exciting stage in the company’s growth. Her combination of scientific expertise and operational leadership experience will help drive Axol’s next phase of operational growth as the company continues to expand its global business.. Having worked across scientific, manufacturing, quality, supply chain and commercial functions, she brings a broad perspective that will help support collaboration across the business and enable continued growth.
Originally from Argentina, Mariana began her career in academia, earning a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology before spending nearly a decade in the United States conducting research in cardiovascular biology, stem cell biology, and regenerative medicine. During this time, she worked across translational research programmes, collaborating with clinicians, scientists, and industry partners to help bridge the gap between scientific discovery and real-world applications.
Mariana’s transition into industry was driven by a desire to create impact beyond the laboratory. Before joining Axol, Mariana progressed from scientific roles into operational leadership, ultimately serving as Associate Director of Manufacturing. In this role, she led cross-functional teams spanning manufacturing, process development, quality, supply chain, facilities, and commercial functions, helping to scale operations, launch new iPSC-derived products, and deliver complex customer programmes.
Throughout her career, Mariana has focused on bringing together science, operations, and business. She is passionate about developing high-performing teams, simplifying complex processes, and creating scalable systems that enable innovation while maintaining quality and customer focus. Her experience launching new iPSC-derived products and leading cross-functional teams will help strengthen the operational foundations needed to support our growth and continued commitment to customers.
