iPSC derived cells for neurodegenerative disease research
As leading suppliers of high-quality human iPSCs, we’re helping to build more relevant in vitro models for neurodegenerative disease research and drug screening.
Choose from our catalogue of high-quality neurons and neuroinflammatory cells:
- Cortical excitatory neurons – express typical markers of cerebral cortical neuron stem and progenitor cells such as PAX6 and FOXG1, and spontaneously form polarized neural rosette structures when cultured as a monolayer.
- Striatal neurons – The human striatum receives dopaminergic and glutamatergic inputs from different parts of the central nervous system, and is the primary input nucleus of the basal ganglia.
- Cortical Inhibitory interneurons – are the ‘brakes’ of the central nervous system. Connections between neurons in the brain are finely tuned and any increased electrical activity is dampened down by these cells.
- Microglia – are the immune cells of the brain, with key roles in brain development, neurogenesis, synaptic plasticity and homeostatic maintenance.
- Astrocytes – Astrocyte dysfunction has been implicated in several neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Rett syndrome and schizophrenia.
- Sensory neurons – Our iPSC derived sensory neurons express sodium ion channels Nav1.7 and the DRG-specific, TTX-resistant channels, Nav1.8 and Nav1.9 as well as the temperature-sensitive, TRPV1 and RPM8, and TRPA1, sensors of pungency, bitterness and cold.
- Motor neurons – Our human iPSC derived motor neuron progenitors can be cultured in vitro to provide a physiologically relevant alternative to conventional animal derived models for use in proof-of-principle drug-screening assays and for modeling motor neuron degeneration.
